The Minutes of the meeting held on 19^th June, 2008 were signed by the Chairman as a correct record.

Report of the Monitoring Officer attached. 

The Monitoring Officer presented a report which drew Members attention to guidance received from the Adjudication Panel as the circumstances in which it would consider accepting a referral from the Standards Committee.

The Committee welcomed the guidance and the clarity contained therein.

Resolved:

That the guidance form the Adjudication Panel be noted.  

Report of the Monitoring Officer attached. 

The Monitoring Officer presented a report on a consultation paper received from the Department for Communities and Local Government on proposals for a revision to the Code of Conduct for Elected Members.  Members discussed the consultation paper and the specific questions raised and expressed their views.  The Committee authorised the Monitoring Officer to submit a response reflecting those views.

Resolved:

That the Monitoring Officer submit a response to the Department for Communities and Local Government reflecting the views expressed by the committee.
