That Councillor Roger Mace be appointed Vice-Chairman of the Committee for the municipal year 2006/07.

Minutes of the meeting held on  15th December 2005

Minutes:

The Minutes of the meeting held on 15th December 2006 were agreed as a true and accurate record. 

3.

Exempt Item

The Committee is recommended to pass the following recommendation in relation to the following item:-

 

“That, in accordance with Section 100A(4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the press and public be excluded from the meeting for the following item of business, on the grounds that they could involve the possible disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraph 1, 7c and 12 of Schedule 12A of that Act.”

 

Members are reminded that, whilst the following items have been marked as exempt, it is for the Committee itself to decide whether or not to consider each of them in private or in public.  In making the decision, Members should consider the relevant paragraph of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972, and should balance the interests of individuals or the Council itself in having access to information.  In considering their discretion Members should also be mindful of the advice of Council Officers.

Consideration of the Investigating Officer’s Report in Respect of Two Matters Referred for Local Investigation

The Committee considered the evidence provided in both the reports by the former Monitoring Officer.

 

Resolved:

 

(1)        That in respect of cases SBE 12321.05 and SBE 11628.05 the former Monitoring Officer's findings of no failure be accepted.

 

(2)        That a report be requested from the Monitoring Officer on options for providing further training for Parish Councils.
