Procurement of Additional REEN Bin Sensor Technology

Award a contract for extended provision of current litter bin sensor technology.

We currently have 189 sensors deployed within litter bins in the District, however, due to the successful trial and the efficiencies delivered, we would like to extend the coverage of sensors to enable litter bin sensors to be installed across the remaining litter bins.

We therefore wish to proceed with the procurement of a further 1000 sensors.

We are utilising the procurement framework via Liverpool City Council in respect of the sensor technology supplier, whom we currently use, and therefore we wish to proceed without the requirement to tender.

The supplier (REEN) have provided the Council with a time-limited option relating to further sensor procurement, along with continued support via their optimising 'Hub' system. This time frame has been extended to allow for budgetary considerations, however we have been informed that this will expire as of Friday 15th December 2023, and therefore we are requesting that call-in is waived.
