To receive as a correct record the Minutes of meeting held on 29 May and 31 July 2025 (previously circulated).

The minutes of the meetings held 29 May and 31 July 2025 were signed by the Chair as a correct record.

There were no items of urgent business.

To receive declarations by Councillors of interests in respect of items on this Agenda. 

Councillors are reminded that, in accordance with the Localism Act 2011, they are required to declare any disclosable pecuniary interests which have not already been declared in the Council’s Register of Interests. (It is a criminal offence not to declare a disclosable pecuniary interest either in the Register or at the meeting). 

Whilst not a legal requirement, in accordance with Council Procedure Rule 9 and in the interests of clarity and transparency, Councillors should declare any disclosable pecuniary interests which they have already declared in the Register, at this point in the meeting. 

In accordance with Part B Section 2 of the Code Of Conduct, Councillors are required to declare the existence and nature of any other interests as defined in paragraphs 8(1) or 9(2) of the Code of Conduct. 

There were no declarations of interest.

Report of Chief Officer - Planning and Climate Change.

The Committee received the report of the Chief Officer Planning and Climate Change advising Members of the consultation on the draft Arnside and Silverdale National Landscape Management Plan. Members were asked to note the proposed response to the consultation and consider it for submission as the Council’s corporate response.

The Committee considered the proposed response and made suggestions for minor amendments to the wording of the answers to questions 1, 9, 11 and 13. Officers agreed to incorporate these into the final draft to be submitted on the deadline of 17 October 2025. The amended response is appended to the minutes.

At the conclusion of discussion it was proposed by Councillor Jean Parr, seconded by Councillor David Whitaker and unanimously agreed to submit the proposed response with the inclusion of the Committee’s amendments.

Resolved: -

1)     That the draft response to the open consultation on the Arnside & Silverdale National Landscape Draft Management Plan as amended and appended to the minutes, be submitted as the Council’s Corporate response.
