Apologies for absence were received from the Mayor and Councillors Armstrong, Devey, Helme, Joan Jackson, Kay, Novell, Sands and Sykes.

To consider, pursuant to Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, past Member of the City Council Mr Keith Budden, for admittance to the Roll of Honorary Alderman of the City of Lancaster in recognition of his eminent service.

In recognition of his eminent service to the District as a past Member of the Council, Members considered the admittance of Mr Keith Budden to the roll of Honorary Alderman of the City of Lancaster.

The motion was moved by Councillor Ashworth and seconded by Councillor Rogerson.  On being put to the vote, the Mayor declared the proposition clearly carried.

Resolved:-

That pursuant to Section 249(1) of the Local Government Act 1972, Mr Keith Budden be admitted to the Roll of Honorary Alderman of the City of Lancaster in recognition of his eminent service as a past Member of the Council.

Honorary Aldermen Budden then signed the Roll of Honour and was presented by the Mayor with a framed certificate. 

Honorary Alderman Mr Keith Budden then thanked Council.
