Minutes of meeting held on 17th February 2021 (previously circulated). 

Minutes:

The minutes of the meeting held on 17th February 2021 were agreed as a correct record. 

 

It was noted that the minutes would be signed by the Chair when the minute book was available. 

31.

Declarations of Interest

To receive declarations by Councillors of interests in respect of items on this Agenda. 

Councillors are reminded that, in accordance with the Localism Act 2011, they are required to declare any disclosable pecuniary interests which have not already been declared in the Council’s Register of Interests. (It is a criminal offence not to declare a disclosable pecuniary interest either in the Register or at the meeting). 

Whilst not a legal requirement, in accordance with Council Procedure Rule 9 and in the interests of clarity and transparency, Councillors should declare any disclosable pecuniary interests which they have already declared in the Register, at this point in the meeting. 

In accordance with Part B Section 2 of the Code Of Conduct, Councillors are required to declare the existence and nature of any other interests as defined in paragraphs 8(1) or 9(2) of the Code of Conduct.

Report of the Director of Corporate Services (report published on 22nd March 2021)

Minutes:

The Director of Corporate Services submitted a report that requested the Committee to consider and recommend to Full Council the Pay Policy Statement for 2021 – 2022 as required by the Localism Act 2011. 

 

The HR Business Partner Corporate Services/Early Careers provided a verbal update at the meeting. 

 

It was proposed by Councillor Robinson, seconded by Councillor Guilding:-

 

That the Pay Policy Statement 2021 - 22 be recommended to Council for approval.” 

 

By way of amendment it was moved by Councillor Caroline Jackson and seconded by Councillor Matthews that an additional recommendation (2) be added as follows:-

 

That the Pay Policy Statement for 2022-23 will be fully reviewed alongside the Fair Work Charter during summer 2021.” 

 

The mover and seconder of the original proposition agreed that the amendment may be accepted as a friendly amendment and be incorporated in the original proposition. 

 

The proposal, as amended, was unanimously carried when put to the vote. 

 

Resolved:

 

(1)        That the Pay Policy Statement 2021 - 22 be recommended to Council for approval. 

 

(2)        That the Pay Policy Statement for 2022 - 23 will be fully reviewed alongside the Fair Work Charter during summer 2021.
