Demolition of existing rear conservatory and erection of a part two part single storey side extension and single storey rear extension.

Skerton West Ward

   R

It was proposed by Councillor Robert Redfern and seconded by Councillor Dave Brookes:

“That the application be refused.”

Upon being put to the vote, 13 Members voted in favour of the application and 2 against, whereupon the Chairman declared the proposal to be carried.

Resolved:

That Planning Permission be refused for the following reason:

1.

The proposed two storey side extension would be inappropriately located beyond the established building line along Burton Avenue in a highly visible location and as a consequence the development would have a detrimental impact upon the visual amenity of the street scene. Furthermore the excessive width of the proposed two storey side extension would significantly unbalance the pair of semi-detached properties leading to an incongruous dwelling when viewed from the wider area. As such it is considered that the proposed development is contrary to Policy DM35 of the Development Management DPD and Section 12 of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF).
