In the past few months there have been many cases of serious
assaults at night (mostly towards women) in the whole area of
Lancaster City, especially the residential areas surrounding the
city centre. Even if they get reported, the Police have not been
able to identify many of the assailants due to the lack of CCTV in
most of the city.
As a woman requesting this e-petition, I feel unsafe even walking
around my own neighbourhood, particularly after these past few
months and this increase in assaults.
On reaching 500 signatures a petition may be presented and received by a meeting of Council.
