Minutes:

Committee received the report of the Licensing Manager to seek Members’ views on the proposed responses to the questions posed by the Home Office as part of the consultation on Locally Set Fees in relation to the Licensing Act 2003 and to seek their approval to submit a response on behalf of Lancaster City Council to the consultation.

Members considered the consultation document and the proposed response.  It was reported that the consultation would run for eight weeks from 13th February 2014 until
10th April 2014, and views were sought on important aspects of the regulations that would govern locally-set fees.

It was proposed by Councillor Sherlock and seconded by Councillor Hill:

“That the Licensing Manager be authorised to respond to the Home Office Consultation on Locally Set Fees on behalf of the Licensing Authority using the draft response at Appendix 2 to the report.”

Upon being put to the vote, Members voted unanimously in favour of the proposition, whereupon the Chairman declared the proposal to be clearly carried.

Resolved:

That the Licensing Manager be authorised to respond to the Home Office Consultation on Locally Set Fees on behalf of the Licensing Authority using the draft response at Appendix 2 to the report.
