Once again McDonalds are causing concern to residents, following
work on their car park – in relation to Heysham:M6 bypass
– they have put up a new sign which looks to be around 30ft
tall and can be seen from a great distance and we feel would be a
dangerous distraction to motorists. We live across the road from
the venue and it is impossible not to be drawn to it when leaving
our complex – and we are driving slowly to enter mainstream
traffic!
We are concerned because when the venue was refurbished they wanted
to put a sign up then but were refused planning permission because
it was over 16ft.
The sign is a monstrous sight within a high residential area and we
would welcome your support in getting the height reduced.
Also there has been no provision within the new entrance for
bollards when the venue is closed.
Again this was condition of planning consent some years ago and
hopefully with your support we can get these reinstated so we don't
have the joyriders back using it as a racetrack, waking us up,
through the night.
Also we would like to see groundwork to create one way system at
entrance so it cannot be used as exit.
